Liberia. A beautiful, coastal country in Africa that most people probably couldn’t point out on a map before Ebola hit. Some of the world’s most un-surfed beaches exist in Africa and two guys from La Jolla, California found their paradise in this untouched land.
Daniel Hopkins and Sean Brody opened the first surfing retreat in a town called Robertsport.
Their love of the people, town, and country helped make Liberia become a second home. As Ebola devastates the country, the founders both left Liberia for their own safety; however, worse than not being able to stay in the beautiful country, the business has been crippled due to
a lack of no tourism coming through.
The locals are in risk of losing their jobs and business.
They’ve started a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe that, with your help, can support the community to keep their jobs until medical professionals can hopefully contain the deadly disease.
With an 85% unemployment rate before Ebola swept through the country, the community needs help more than ever.
